Where it came from
QuickQuote started as a tool for a working Brisbane landscaper who was losing his evenings to quoting. The job would finish at five, and the pricing would start at eight — notebook out, yard price list out, and an hour gone working out what eight cubic metres of crusher dust and forty square metres of turf actually came to.
Everything in it came from that: the plain-words notes box, because nobody wants dropdowns at the back of a ute. The real yard prices, because a price list you have to maintain yourself goes stale and takes the quote with it. The margin on screen before the send button, because after the job is dug is too late to find out.
It works, so it's here for other people to use. That's the whole story — there's no venture funding behind it and no growth team.
